DIFFICULTIES WHEN WORKING IN MULTICULTURAL TEAMS
The growth of the Brainport Eindhoven area attracts many foreign knowledge workers from all around the world. The workforce in many companies in the area has become more and more diverse. Diversity can be a true asset to have a talented team, however in many cases cultural differences are linked to creating difficulties in working towards a common goal. Frustration, conflicts and disappointments can all too easily lead to mediocre results and higher turnover.

CULTURE
DEVELOPING CULTURAL AWARENESS & STRENGTHENING INTERCULTURAL COMMUNICATION TO GET BETTER RESULTS

In order to be successful with an international team, it is of paramount importance that the team members are aware of cultural differences, can deal with them in a respectful manner and resolve any issues with an impact on performance quickly. The CULTURE intercultural programmes have been set up to support companies in the Brainport Eindhoven area to do just that. They build on the cultural frameworks developed by Geert Hofstede, Frans Trompenaar and Erin Meyer, using their dimensions and scales to help to create awareness and insights in cultural differences. The Introduction programme develops insight into these frameworks. The Masterclass expands into identifying the potential pitfalls in intercultural communication and understanding the needed skills and attitude to overcome these. In the in-depth and tailored programme, these skills and attitudes are used in day-to-day work and reflected on jointly, so that learning takes place effectively and the team grows in performance.
